The Get Unstuck Self‑Assessment
You're not stuck because you lack answers. You're stuck because you haven't learned what's really in the way.
A fish sees water last. What's blocking you is right in front of you. But instead of looking at it, you keep searching for new answers. That's dodging the truth, and while you're dodging, you can't learn.
Learning means two things: seeing the real problem clearly, then doing something about it. It happens in six stages: remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, create. This assessment takes you through all six, one question each, so you can find the block and move past it.
Type it raw. Don't clean it up. Give it 9 honest minutes.
What do you keep saying you're going to do?
The thing you've said out loud more than once. To your wife. Your buddy. Yourself in the mirror. Write it the way you say it.
Write the thing you keep saying.
Pick one.
What has it cost you? Who else pays?
Not what it might cost someday. What it has already cost. Be specific.
Write what it has already cost.
The last seven days
You wrote what you say. Now write what you did. Not what you meant to do. What you did.
Days that moved it: __ out of 7. Put this next to what you wrote in section 1. That gap is the whole story.
Same stall. Different clothes.
Every day you didn't move, you had a reason. Check every one you've used this week, or this year.
Say what's underneath.
Busy. Later. After the job. When the kids are older. Different words. Same answer: not now. Say "not now" long enough and it means no.
What is the stall protecting?
A stall that lasts this long is guarding something. Check the one that's true, not the one that sounds better.
If yes, be honest about it and stop saying you'll do it. If no, finish this page.
One action. One date. One witness.
Not a plan. One thing you will do, on a date, with someone waiting to see it.
One sentence. Something you can see done.
One thing you will do.
A real date. Not "soon."
Pick a real date.
Someone whose respect you'd hate to lose.
Name them.
Photo, text, showing up, receipt.
What will they see?
Tell them in the next 24 hours. If you don't tell anyone, you haven't decided. You've just said it again.
